Manifesto.
Curateo is a curated edit of Nottingham’s independent scene - built by people who care deeply about the city and the places that shape it.
Est. 2026 | Nottingham, UK
We exist to champion independently run businesses, creative spaces, and local culture, and to help people spend their time more intentionally as a result.
Every recommendation on Curateo is rooted in local knowledge, careful curation, and a genuine belief that where you choose to spend your time and money matters.
Nottingham is full of brilliant independents. Much of this is already championed incredibly well by local Instagram pages, newsletters, and word-of-mouth.
But social feeds are fleeting. Great recommendations get buried in the noise, making them hard to find again when you actually need them.
Curateo doesn’t replace these local champions; it complements them. We give that fleeting knowledge a lasting, structured home.
In a digital landscape optimised for volume and addiction, meaningful discovery feels like work.
Many of us are introducing restrictions or stepping back from social media entirely to reclaim our time. But stepping back shouldn't mean missing out.
Curateo is an intentional alternative. A tool designed for clarity, not engagement metrics. A slower, more considered way to connect with your city.
Our approach is deliberately slower.
- Less noise.
- Fewer recommendations.
- Better choices.
It’s about shaping thoughtful days around local places - encouraging people to linger, explore, and support the businesses that give Nottingham its soul.
Curation, not clutter.
This is local passion, not algorithms. A city guide built with care - for Nottingham, and the people who make it what it is.
